Profitis Ilias Hermitage

The hermitage of Profitis Ilias is located in the highest point of the island of Patmos in front of the Chora on the west side of the island.

You can go there with your own car or scooter only.

The hermitage is always closed. People come here to enjoy a beautiful pure aegean greek sunset.

The view to other islands is amazing you can see Naxos, Ikaria, Samos, Fourni, Leros, Kalymnos, Lipsi, Ktapodia, Donoussa.

Only on the day of Profitis Ilias the old hermitage open its doors to pilgrims and local people for the vespers and matins.
